Identify the tested unit and source
Before testing, record the model, size, material, colour, acquisition method and visible label. Note whether the bag is new or used and any detachable accessories. A result belongs to that unit and configuration.
Catalogue evidence and this protocol have different roles. The product listing records manufacturer specifications; the test record will show original observations with dated photographs and measurements. This page is a method, not a completed review.
Measure the empty and loaded bag
Photograph the scale reading with the normal strap and hardware fitted, record the scale resolution and repeat the weighing. Measure the exterior both empty and with the stated load at the widest points.
Record usable openings separately from the exterior. Publish measurement uncertainty and the original unit. A rounded manufacturer specification is not substituted for a scale or ruler record.
Run loading and closure tasks
Use an identified phone with its case, passport with any sleeve, and a stated optional load. Show the arrangement before closure and every relevant fastener fully closed. Test alternatives as separate configurations.
- Loading: can all stated objects be placed in the intended compartments together?
- Closure: does each fastener close through its full travel with normal effort?
- Retrieval: can a named object be removed and replaced without unloading another?
- Wear: where does the loaded bag sit with the stated body, coat and strap setting?
Make comparisons repeatable
Compare products using the same objects, task definitions and wearing setup. For a timed retrieval, state when timing starts and stops, keep failed attempts and report the number of trials. Avoid ranking a one-off fast attempt as a stable property.
A result should include useful limitations such as a blocked opening, shifted bag or extra access step. Separate observed drawbacks from hypothetical risks.
Publish evidence and keep unanswered questions
A finished record should include original photos, dates, measurements, the exact configuration, advantages and drawbacks observed, and links to the manufacturer evidence. Add corrections as dated changes when a measurement or identity is revised.
Until a test is complete, phone-plus-passport closure, winter-coat fit and commute use remain unknown for the relevant products. No rating, wearer photo or simulated load image is used to create a hands-on result.
