Three Velcro straps secure the bag to handlebars and headtube, although they feel less robust than Voile straps while remaining functional. Side pouches hold quick-access items or discarded wrappers, helping keep used rubbish separate from jersey pockets and the bag’s interior. A bright red lining helps locate smaller items, but the bag has no internal pockets for securing keys and wallets.
The reviewer found the five-litre capacity balanced useful storage with a package that remained reasonably sized. During a ride, the front webbing conveniently held a waterproof jacket after showers while the side pockets separated used wrappers.
Reported strengths
- The roll-top entry gives the Alpkit Gravel Bag reasonably sized storage while making access quicker than side-roll designs.
- Front bungee webbing provides useful external storage for bulkier items, including a rain jacket that has become wet.
- Side pouches hold quick-access items or discarded wrappers, helping keep used rubbish separate from jersey pockets and the bag’s interior.
Reported trade-offs
- The reviewer describes waterproof outer materials, but warns that untaped seams may let contents become damp during prolonged heavy rain.
- Three Velcro straps secure the bag to handlebars and headtube, although they feel less robust than Voile straps while remaining functional.
- A bright red lining helps locate smaller items, but the bag has no internal pockets for securing keys and wallets.
