The hip belt provides strong support for long treks, but reviewers found its bulky design inconvenient when quickly putting the pack on. Its bottom shoe compartment separates dirty footwear from clothing and held multiple pairs during their reported testing period. A separate padded laptop compartment has a false bottom and can be reached from the top or through the main compartment.
The large mesh interior compartments suit packing cubes or rolled clothing, although the review notes that exterior pockets reduce their available space. A small front quick-grab pocket fits a phone and passport, making those items convenient to retrieve during airport security.
