The reviewer found the buckle placement trickier to put on than typical center-buckle bags, requiring balancing and time to get used to. The front pass-through accommodates slim water bottles and folding umbrellas, while compression straps help prevent those items from slipping out easily. The reviewer reported that side-positioned buckles and bar-tacked strap wings keep the harness from snagging clothing when switching positions.

The padded back panel helped the EVERGOODS Mountain Hip Pack 3.5L sit comfortably whether carried as a sling or waist pack. The pack uses 420D nylon, a 210D nylon lining, PU coatings, YKK zippers, and Duraflex buckles as its primary materials and hardware.
