Patterson describes one full-length main compartment plus a front zippered pocket for smaller items. In his packing example, the bag held two pairs of sneakers, clothing, and room for toiletries. He also reports that it meets carry-on specifications. Positives include the very light build, a useful exterior pocket, and strong reported weather resistance.
The rain test is the clearest condition-specific result: after 30 minutes of steady soaking rain, both compartments reportedly stayed dry, including while water pooled on the zipper line. The tradeoffs are practical. The shoulder strap may shift during movement, and there is no internal padding or compartmentalization. Check: frequent flyers carrying delicate equipment may need separate organizers or another protective bag.
