Carter describes a water-resistant waxed charcoal canvas bag with a measured empty size of 16” x 11” x 4.5”, smaller than HEX’s listed dimensions. Its fleece-lined padded laptop pocket fit his Dell XPS 15, while the main compartment handled about an inch of notebooks and legal folders. Wraparound zippers support access in either orientation, and the bag converts between briefcase and backpack modes.
The carry system is the standout: leather-wrapped briefcase handles stow away, backpack straps are adjustable, and one strap can be used for an over-the-shoulder carry. Emilie preferred that mode because the bag stayed close and left one hand free. Positives include versatile carrying, restrained styling, and useful folder space.
Tradeoffs are meaningful for bulky loads. A large AC adapter can force a bulge, the iPad pocket is tight with a SmartCover, and the bag lacks pen loops, clips, and small internal organizers. The straps are unpadded, and the exterior pockets are not expandable. Check: the reviewed material or production revision is unconfirmed.
