The reviewer reports that slick bottles can slip from the Catalyst 22’s plain, non-stretch side pockets when the bag tilts backward. The reviewer uses the zipper-track pull tabs as gripping anchors and attachment points for accessories such as carabiners or bike lights. The Catalyst 22 harness includes padded shoulder straps, breathable mesh, a rigid back panel, and load lifters for carrying support.
After testing, the reviewer could not find strap adjustments that made the Catalyst 22 ride high and close against the back. The reviewer uses the side-flap mesh pockets for small everyday items because packing cubes in the center cannot block them.
