The reviewer considers the Vantage unsuitable for day hikes because it lacks a proper bottle pouch and may feel heavy over distance. The reviewer describes the Vantage as primarily a commuter or day pack offered in several size options overall. The rear compartment includes a laptop sleeve, a large mesh pocket, and enough room for a journal or tablet.
The reviewer used the unusual front compartment mainly for a poncho during rainy days in Indonesia while traveling. The laptop sleeve sits above the pack bottom, which the reviewer says could reduce impact if the bag is dropped.
Reported strengths
- The front compartment zips nearly to its base, creating a duffel-like opening that accommodates more than the reviewer initially expected.
- Clips at the compartment's top and bottom help compress the contents when the bag is packed.
- The rear compartment includes a laptop sleeve, a large mesh pocket, and enough room for a journal or tablet.
Reported trade-offs
