With straightjacket compression engaged, the main compartment only opens from the top, limiting access to gear below the upper section. Load lifters, shoulder strap adjusters, and the sternum rail let riders fine-tune harness positioning from both the top and bottom. The rear-facing bottle-pocket opening lets riders retrieve water without loosening straps or swinging the entire backpack around.

The LidLock attachment secures a helmet through its ventilation hole, and its bungee retracts into the front pocket when unused. The front pouch organizes slim power banks, wireless earphones, pens, and other gear through mesh pockets, pen silos, and a liner pocket.

Reported strengths

  • The reviewer reports that the 500D Nylon Packcloth feels durable enough for frequent bike trips and has shown no loose threads or tears.
  • The shoulder straps are well padded and use mesh on both sides, which the reviewer says improves breathability during sweaty rides.
  • Load lifters, shoulder strap adjusters, and the sternum rail let riders fine-tune harness positioning from both the top and bottom.

Reported trade-offs

  • The reviewer notes that the METRON lacks strap keepers beyond the sternum strap, leaving many loose straps unmanaged.
  • With straightjacket compression engaged, the main compartment only opens from the top, limiting access to gear below the upper section.
  • A newer 16-inch MacBook Pro fits tightly, leaves nearly an inch outside the sleeve, and may expose that portion to damage.
