Rain flaps add zipper protection, although their material can occasionally catch the zipper pull during use. The split clamshell layout supports organized packing, while independent front-compartment volume remains available separately from the main compartment. The lower front pocket provides open space for bulky gear, while the upper pocket organizes smaller essentials for convenient access.
The shoulder straps use thinner, firmer padding that reduces weight but can create more shoulder pressure during longer carries. Reported compromises include thinner shoulder padding, no rear security pocket, and slower access to the centrally positioned laptop compartment.
