Carrying the backpack alongside a shoulder bag made the combined straps dig into the reviewer’s shoulder and became very uncomfortable. The hidden backpack straps attach through bottom-corner connectors, and the reviewer found converting the bag to backpack mode and stowing them easy. A chest strap helps distribute pressure from the shoulders, and the stored backpack harness leaves the bag’s conversion unobvious.

Inside, the bag provides inner pouches, clothing-retention straps, and a larger top zippered section that consistently accommodated the reviewer’s flip-flops. The laptop compartment accommodated the reviewer’s laptop, tablet, and Kindle, potentially eliminating the need for a separate personal item.

Reported strengths

  • The reviewer used the two front zipper compartments to store the shoulder strap and belts, giving those small items separate accessible spaces.
  • A rear sleeve lets the bag ride on a larger rolling suitcase, while top and side handles support suitcase-style carrying.
  • The hidden backpack straps attach through bottom-corner connectors, and the reviewer found converting the bag to backpack mode and stowing them easy.

Reported trade-offs

  • The reviewer found the expanded bag too wide for an airport sizer, whereas it fit the sizer and overhead compartment when unexpanded.
  • Carrying the backpack alongside a shoulder bag made the combined straps dig into the reviewer’s shoulder and became very uncomfortable.
  • Because the bag lacks a rigid skeleton, the reviewer cautions against checking bulky breakable items unless they are packed especially carefully.
