The top pouch was easiest to pack first, but its position consumed main-compartment space and complicated fitting larger items. The reviewer highlighted the built-in rain fly and pockets that are accessible from both the bag's interior and exterior. The ultra-padded drop-in laptop sleeve was trusted completely by the reviewers during their testing of the bag.
The backpack converts easily using Timbuk2's clipping system, although tucking the straps away is easier when the bag is empty. The Aviator can be carried as a backpack or by its side handles, with the backpack straps tucked away.
