Organization is the strongest practical point in Carryology’s account. Vo liked the combination of external pockets and internal sleeves for small work items, and found the flat, tall shape well suited to books and documents. He also praised the smooth, one-handed operation of the large YKK zippers and considered the pack comfortable for his everyday loads.
The tradeoffs depend on what and how you carry. The narrow rectangular form is poorly suited to basketballs, boxes, or other bulky, irregular objects. Vo also found that the shoulder straps could sit too far outward and that the buckles repeatedly slipped. The sample’s leather patches showed immediate wear. Check: the article says these strap and leather issues were addressed in a later batch, so the reviewed sample should not be treated as confirmation of the updated revision.
