Parker reports that the bag fits under an airplane seat and carries over 1 cubic foot while weighing 1.3 pounds. Its leather handles can be used by hand, over the shoulder, or on a carry-on handle, and the removable strap adds cross-body or hip-height carry.
Organization is deliberately spare: two internal zip pockets with slots, a broad open compartment, and one tab-secured exterior pocket. Parker used the slots for document folders and the outer pocket for a phone and boarding passes. That layout favors irregularly sized contents over compartment-heavy packing.
The compromises are equally clear. The review calls the design “no frills,” and the simplified pocket setup may leave users wanting more separation. The zipper shield is discussed in the context of rain and insects in the jungle, rather than as a broad weatherproofing claim. Parker’s account says the waxed canvas and leather tolerated rough handling on this trip.
Reported strengths
- Under-seat personal-item positioning and low reported weight suited Parker’s airline-constrained Costa Rica trip.
- Multiple carry options included leather handles, carry-on-handle looping, and an adjustable removable strap.
- The open interior and modest pocket set accommodated both large items and travel documents.
Reported trade-offs
- The interior organization is intentionally simplified, with only two internal zip pockets and one exterior pocket.
- The review describes the bag as having no frills, so travelers wanting extensive compartmentalization may need to check whether the open layout suits them.
