The cotton webbing strap feels comfortable, and its diagonal attachment carries well without hotspots, though the Navy cognac’s lighter strap shows use quickly. Although intended for passports, the rear stitched slip pocket became the reviewer’s convenient quick-access location for a phone. Inside, the Poacher has three sleeves arranged as one full-width rear compartment plus two smaller slips on the front.
The Poacher gives the reviewer more room than a sling without requiring a full backpack, making its capacity feel personally well judged. The reviewer reports that the Poacher does not suit specialized loads such as camera equipment or sports gear particularly well.
Reported strengths
- The Poacher’s Cobra closure is easily operated one-handed, and the reviewer appreciates having a single closure on this smaller bag.
- The front netting gives the Poacher a useful place for noncritical items, including gloves, a hat, or occasionally a hip flask.
- Although intended for passports, the rear stitched slip pocket became the reviewer’s convenient quick-access location for a phone.
Reported trade-offs
