Reviewed sample: Brenthaven Collins Vertical Messenger Bag · Collins Vertical Messenger Bag · Linen-textured fabric with leather accents; reviewed production revision unconfirmed · Normal iPad size (9.7″); reviewed size, not measured capacity. Historical publisher sample only; current production equivalence, stock and individual fit remain unverified. A complete CarryFacts specification record is not yet linked.
Richbourg describes a compact four-compartment layout: a case-friendly main sleeve, a flap-covered accessory pocket with pen loops and card slots, an unpadded rear slash pocket, and a small zippered flap pocket. The review also reports a sewn-in strap with ample adjustment, body-hugging angled tabs, and easy access after swinging the bag around. The main compartment’s foam padding and leather-covered base are useful positives for tablet carry.
The compromises are clear. The reviewer says the bag is too small for newer large iPhones in its zip pocket, lacks padding outside the main compartment, and has no haul loop. The Gadgeteer positions it for an iPad or tablet, perhaps a stand and power cable, rather than a dense everyday-carry load. Check: confirm fit against the intended tablet case and phone before relying on the smaller pockets.
