The laptop compartment fits a 13-inch MacBook Pro with light padding, but its lack of a false bottom makes hard drops potentially unforgiving. A padded expandable bottle pocket and side phone holster let users reach essentials without removing the Day Owl Backpack. The leather grab handles snap together, allowing the Day Owl Backpack to convert quickly from backpack carry into practical tote carry.
The side pocket fits an 18-ounce bottle, remains padded, and accommodates a damp umbrella according to the reviewer’s hands-on notes. The wide clamshell opening improves access, yet limited internal organization leaves technology and accessories mostly loose inside the Day Owl Backpack.
