Accessing the USB ports requires opening their larger zippered compartment completely, because the ports sit where the zipper stops. The Mariner's front zippered pocket held the reviewer's Samsung Galaxy S9+, providing a dedicated location for a large phone. Inside the main compartment, a long canvas strap carries a key clip plus bottle and can openers for convenient access.
The main compartment has a divider with a tablet pocket, tuck pockets for sunglasses, and a full-bottom section for larger items. The mesh interior bottom lets sand fall through, while a zippered compartment underneath lets users shake remaining sand out at the beach.
