The tablet pocket held a full-sized iPad somewhat loosely, and the reviewer worried smaller tablets could slip past its securing strap. The front organizer pocket includes a zippered mesh pocket, pen holders, several open pockets, a divided section, and a key hook. The reviewer packed a bulky laptop power supply, fleece pullover, and inflatable neck pillow in the main compartment with room remaining.

The laptop compartment unzips fully and opens flat, supporting the Atlas’s checkpoint-friendly design during airport X-ray screening. The adaptable sleeve can snugly accommodate laptops ranging from smaller 13-inch models through larger 17.3-inch computers.

Reported strengths

  • The reviewer found carrying a backpack through airports and hotels easier on shoulders and back than a messenger bag.
  • The reviewer found the orange interior useful because it made items easier to see inside compartments, particularly under low-light conditions.
  • The front organizer pocket includes a zippered mesh pocket, pen holders, several open pockets, a divided section, and a key hook.

Reported trade-offs

  • The reviewer considered the open front pocket convenient but unsuitable for valuables because someone might remove contents without notice.
  • The tablet pocket held a full-sized iPad somewhat loosely, and the reviewer worried smaller tablets could slip past its securing strap.
  • The trolley pass-through works discreetly with rolling luggage, but the reviewer wished zippers could convert it into additional storage.
