Sporrer praised the large lid, three lid pockets, side mesh storage, map pocket, and alternate access through a side zipper. He also liked the adaptable compression setup, removable lid, exterior carry options, and the pack’s load-bearing ride. The review describes the build as high quality and says the nylon with PU coating handled substantial wet weather without a rain cover.
The compromises center on fit and tool carry. Sporrer disliked the Velcro ice-tool attachment because compression could pinch tools. His large torso version sat lower than preferred, and its belt was too long for his 32-inch waist. Check: prospective users should confirm torso and belt sizing with Gregory, since the reviewer wanted more harness adjustability.
