The review presents the Default as a roomy, weather-oriented hauler with a rolltop, vinyl-lined main compartment, front organizational pockets, side pockets, and removable sternum and waist straps. Carryology reports that it handled bulky mixed loads comfortably, while the Sailcloth exterior remained presentable after outdoor use. Positive: useful load capacity. Positive: effective wet-weather protection. Positive: stabilizing straps for cycling.
The compromises become clearer when the bag is full. Carryology reports limited internal organization, access difficulty at the weatherproof front pocket, and occasional gaps around the front compartment and rolltop. The concealed laptop pocket is unpadded and extends to the ground, so the reviewer used it for documents instead. The flat mesh back also became warm while riding, making conditions and device protection important checks.
