The reviewer missed having a side carry handle, particularly when moving the bag from his back into a car trunk. The padded backpack straps fold neatly behind a false rear wall, allowing the Volt XL to convert into a shoulder bag. Breathable mesh lines the straps and rear center, which the reviewer found made carrying comfortable and relatively low-sweat.
The removable R3 sleeve provides a suspension cradle and hard nylon protection against sharp objects inside the laptop compartment. The included Boot sleeve protects laptops with closed-cell foam and adds its own carry handle, shoulder strap, and document pocket.
