Carryology describes a front panel that opens clamshell-style, with independently usable side zips. The organization includes a laptop sleeve, mesh and concealed pockets, a front pocket, and an expandable beavertail. The review found the padded straps comfortable across different loads, while the waist belt was removable and ultimately unnecessary for the reviewer.
The reported compromises are closely tied to the bag’s shape and hardware. Side compression straps obstruct access and were usually left undone; the front laptop position altered balance and could make the bag tip forward when lightly packed. Carryology also found the top pocket awkward for documents, the top handle uncomfortable, and the side bottle pockets too small for a 32oz bottle. Packing cubes matter because loose contents can leave upper space unused.

- The side bottle pockets do not fit a 32oz Nalgene bottle.
