At about two kilograms, the Tower 47 is not ultralight, but the reviewer says it adds little to overall base weight. The Tower 47 uses the Futura Alpine yoke, which the reviewer calls lighter and more streamlined than Mystery Ranch’s normal Futura setup. The removable hip belt helped the reviewer keep a full load off the shoulders, while harness adjustability allowed sharing the load.
The 1000D Cordura handled Albuquerque granite without issue, according to the reviewer, while the yoke protected clothing from abrasive contact. The Tower 47 provides quick-access pockets and a stash area in its non-removable brain for grabbing miscellaneous items during approach walks.
Reported strengths

- The Tower 47 uses the Futura Alpine yoke, which the reviewer calls lighter and more streamlined than Mystery Ranch’s normal Futura setup.
